Overcoming Fatigue

Matthew 11:28-30 says, “28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Have you ever played a sports game on a game console, such as NBA 2K on PS4? Whether it is an NBA, NFL or FIFA, if a specific player plays extended minutes in a game, at some point fatigue will set in and be a factor in the outcome of the game. Without the proper rest in NBA 2K17 for example, it could lead to some consistent turnovers and missed shots. It is all about timing their rest so the main players can enter back into the game and make a great impact in their roles on the team. The only way to overcome fatigue is rest!
Some people have the mindset that they will have to work through every moment of being fatigue, but that is definitely not always the case. Playing through pain may be necessary in the championship, but not all season long. Without rest, players become more susceptible to injuries. All of this eludes to spiritual significance because when you are growing weary in the ministry:  rest! Being part of the family of God means having rest. It comes through knowing who you are in God or who He is to you. Although you face competition, you can wear yourself out by not resting. You are similar to the boxer who simply “beats the air” without landing a single punch (1 Corinthians 9:26). Rest in the arms of Christ, laying very worldly burden at His feet and setting at atmosphere of worship in your life that erases the stress and tension. His peace comes, and, of course, peace means rest. Life is so much better that way!
